Yoga at KiMS

We’re excited to learn that yoga will soon be offered to KiMS students! The school has recently purchased yoga videos for P.E. classes, after-school sports and other activities. The practice will primarily focus on breathing and relaxation.

Parents who practice yoga know its many benefits. Beyond enhanced flexibility and strength, yoga can also relieve stress and encourage a calm mindset. The benefits for kids are similar and can help counter pressures particular to middle-school kids, from school and social activities to competitive sports. In fact, yoga by its very nature is non-competitive, allowing kids to experience it entirely free of expectation to win or excel.

Rest assured, too, that the yoga practice being offered at KiMS – like most yoga practices – is not a religious practice. Rather, the intention is purely wellness and growth for students’ bodies and minds.
